Lorraine was the perfect host - there when we needed her and leaving us to it the rest of the time. She gave a great recommendation for a beach nearby, and although sadly for her the hot tub had broken, Lorraine sent over an immediate refund.
Would definitely recommend this place and urge you to not miss the chance to see the milky way at night!!

  The mill is a beautiful building inside and out and there were many positive points about our stay! Our children loved that there were so many toys to play with... read more and we found that the mill had everything we needed, and enjoyed exploring the local area. There were just a couple of things that we didn't enjoy quite as much; before arriving we got what we felt was quite a curt email detailing the expectations of us as guests and communication was not always straightforward during our stay as we thought we should contact the host but the host was away so we needed to ask people next door for help instead. They were friendly and did resolve our issue with the heating being too low, and overall we did have a lovely time.

Hot tub with the sound of the gushing waterfall nearby was complete relaxation, looking up through the autumnal leaves, watching bats and seeing the stars come out, the water is so soft in the area.

Such attention to detail in the house and the surrounding area.

In addition to this, a really magical part of our holiday was witnessing the love of the land, of the hosts and community of volunteers that surround the mill.   Truly magical eco-retreat! We had a wonderful time in this very unique and characterful property. The sauna and hot tub were both perfect, even in December. Beds were very comfortable... read more and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need hosting a large group… Including cafetières,
board games, dvds, cds and more!

The only two things that I don’t think the listing mentions are:
- You need to take shoes off inside (plenty of slippers are provided!)
- You are asked to take recycling away with you to the local recycling centre

Neither of these things were a problem for us, but worth bearing in mind!

Hosts were very friendly and helpful but also gave us plenty of privacy and freedom to enjoy our stay without interruption! Definitely happy to recommend and would love to come back one day.

Lorraine goes above and beyond to answer any questions and is very warm and friendly. We met a couple of other friendly locals who introduced us to Jackson the donkey and gave us a wave while cycling past the house ☺️

The sauna and hot tub experience was wonderful and the massive outdoor space for the kids to play was incredible, they had so much fun.

The only thing I’d say is some of the pillows in the bedroom could have been doing with being replaced but that’s really all I can say.
